Entrepreneur Day 04/21/2010
Here is a quick video from our booth at Entrepreneur Day at San Diego State University. The day was a great success even though SDSU administrators were trying to kick us off campus for offering students a better deal for graduation portraits. There was some butting of heads, but we were able to set aside our differences and still offer students are phenomenal $25 Graduation Portrait headshot. We have had dozens of students take advantage of this offer and we hope to continue to offer this special to all of the graduating SDSU seniors. Miss iTan Photoshootw 04/09/2010
I got the opportunity to be hired as the photographer for the Miss iTan contestants' photoshoot at the Se Hotel. We got off to early start at 6:30am at the poolside club, Siren. We began setting up and the marketing manager for iTan began checking in the Miss iTan contestants. It was my job to shoot all of the girls in pairs and make them look good and tan. The Se Hotel was an amazing venue and we had a gorgeous sunrise at the beginning for the shoot. It provided us some really warm tones that made these girls' tans POP! I posted some the pics below. I hope you enjoy. Also don't forget to become a fan of us on Facebook to see when we post all of the really cool photos from our events and gigs. Yesterday was the Fifth Annual PB Pub Crawl and from the amount of people that came wearing their "Classy" yellow T-Shirts it was a huge success. I had volunteered to be the photographer to help promote the event and it was for a good cause. The event was perfect display of the younger generation supporting a good cause while having a good time in Pacific Beach. My hat goes off to Heather Gibson and the rest of the StayClassy.org crew for putting on a spectacular event and getting so many people to attend and support StayClassy.org's 5 year anniversary. If you had attended the event and want to check out your photos you can view them on our Fan Page here. It was an absolute honor to be their photographer for their South and Southwest Conference of 2010 at the Sheraton on the marina here in San Diego. \ The event started off like most conferences or conventions with h'orderves and drinks. With people snacking in the background it was my job to photograph all 16 sales teams in a one hour time period. Each team consisted of 10-15 people and it was on me to organize them in a symmetrical manner and get them all to smile and not blink for each photo. Each team was allotted 2-3 photos as time was of the essence. Once the team photos were done it was time for dinner to began and the award ceremony to follow. The award ceremony was extremely difficult to photograph and I am sure many San Diego Photographers have dealt with similar problems. Being too close with a zoom lens was a tough one when having to switch back and forth between lenses for single and group shots. However, the job got done and was everything turned out great. I want to thank the Eli Lilly team for being wonderful hosts and putting on an electrifying event that all attendees really seemed to have enjoyed. This weekend the wonderful Lauren Marie (one of the regular models for the Headshot and Portrait Photography Class) was in dire need to update her photos for the small business she works with that throws princess parties for young children. Lauren absolutely loves what she does and she is a pleasure to work with. If you are interested in learning more about Lauren and her princess parties you can visit PrincessToGo.com. You can also view her some of the photos that were taken below. The Headshot & Portrait Photography class this last Saturday was a huge success! The model, Lauren Marie was absolutely amazing to work with (as always). The students in attendance benefited from a great experience and learned what it took to use the available light around them and how to work with a model. More importantly they learned how to direct their subject and come up with creative ideas to use their surroundings to take great photos that POP! Although the rain forced us to move the class inside, we were still able to improvise and have a great class. To view all of the photos uploaded by the students click here or view some of the below. This week has been a great week for The Right Light Photography. Today we received official notice that we are an approved member of the Professional Photographers of America. This is the largest and most prestigious association in the photography industry. It is a great honor to be associated with the PPA and we look to learn from other members and pass on the benefits to our clients. This weekend was a huge success for the Night Photography Class. Jason Kirby taught another San Diego Photography Class at Oceanside Photo & Telescope. We had 13 attendees and covered the various different scenarios associated with night and low light photography. The first 1 hour and half was a lecture from the PowerPoint below providing background information and recommendations for night and low light photography. The remainder of the class was taught out at the Oceanside pier on what turned out to be an amazing night to take photos. We were able to take some dusk shots and even some fun long exposure shots. To view the presentation from the class and to get an idea on recommended settings for various scenarios please look below. Night Photography Class View more presentations from Jason Kirby. Actress Headshots | San Diego Photographer 01/24/2010
Today, Glenda York came into the studio to have some professional headshots taken so she can get back into acting into plays and theater. Glenda was a wonderful person to work because of her great sense of humor. We shot a bunch of different looks and got to use some new equipment recently purchased for the studio. To make the session more fun and upbeat we played The Beatles in the background. Glenda is a Principal at a local elementary school by day and an aspiring actress by night. She has a passion for acting and wants be on broadway before she is 70. I want to wish her the best of luck in her upcoming auditions in the next few months. |
